So recently I was listening to Defying Gravity and at the end when when Elphaba is flying she says "And nobody in all of Oz. No Wizard that there is or was is ever gonna bring me down!" and I was wondering when she says "...no wizard that there is or was..." is she referring to how the Wizard of Oz really inst a real wizard? Or is it something else?

You’re right, that’s part of it. But basically she’s saying that no one, however powerful or influential, is going to stop her. That’s her defiant statement as the capper to an anthem of defiance. Thanks for your interest and best, Stephen Schwartz
